Absolute Beginners > Trash

If you are more familiar with the Windows operating system then you will know about the Recycle bin. On a Mac, Trash is where all items you have deleted go to. You will find the Trash icon on the left hand side of the Dock. You can delete an item by dragging it to the Trash icon.

When you place an item into Trash for the first time you will notice it changes from empty to full. You can empty Trash by pressing Control then clicking on Trash. Then click Empty trash. If you place an item in Trash and want to remove it press Control and click the Trash icon. Then click Open. This will open a folder. You can then drag and drop the item to the desktop to remove it from the Trash.
